A partial denture is used when there are some teeth remaining that can be used for attaching and securing the removable appliance in place. Dr. Ahmed will explain your tooth-replacement options and help you determine which treatment may best meet your needs.
Periodontics refers to the gums and soft tissue around the teeth and the supporting bone structure beneath. Signs of periodontal disease may be identified during your cleaning and examination. If a concern is detected, Dr. Ahmed will explain the findings and recommend appropriate care.
Gingivitis is the first stage of periodontal disease and involves the soft tissue around the teeth. It appears as red or swollen gums with bleeding and inflammation.
Periodontitis also has these symptoms, but also involves the bone supporting the teeth; there is evidence of bone loss between and around teeth that can advance if left untreated.

Root canals are usually recommended when the pulp or nerve within the tooth has been affected by decay, trauma or infection. Damage to the nerve can present itself as sensitivity, pain, pressure, swelling or remain asymptomatic; some problems are detected by x-ray. Root canals are a way to treat and save the tooth that might otherwise have to be extracted.

When a tooth is determined non-restorable, or otherwise untreatable, it needs to be removed to avoid further damage to other teeth or supporting bone. Not all wisdom teeth have to be extracted. They do however frequently create crowding and shifting of other teeth, cause pain or infection, and damage adjacent teeth. Impacted wisdom teeth can also be associated with cysts and tumors within the bone.
Thanks to the advancements in dental implants, we have a means to replace one or more missing teeth without the need to affect adjacent teeth. New techniques have given a more natural and aesthetic and natural appearance to the implant. Implants can also be used to secure and stabilize a removable denture. Dental implants generally require several visits.
Placement and integration or healing the implant body takes about three months prior to fabrication of the implant abutment and crown placement.
